ABOUT US - Our company

In 1981, seeing the need in his community for a reliable and trustworthy chimney cleaning service, professional firefighter, Bob Perera, founded Fire Safe Chimney Sweep. The company was originally formed solely for chimney cleaning service, but over the past 3 decades, we have developed into a full service chimney company, offering various chimney repairs, chimney re-linings, chimney cleanings, chimney cap installations, wood stove installations, and much more.

We expanded in 1997 with a sub-company called Solar Innovations and started distributing as well as installing tubular skylights and solar attic fans. The brand we currently offer, Natural Light, has the best warranty, construction and technology on the market. When it comes to tubular skylights and solar attic fans, you won’t find a better brand. We take pride in being able to offer our customers the best products available.

For over 30 years, we have been serving the surrounding communities with our chimney-related expertise in addition to the several other services we offer. We continuously hear positive feedback from those who are enjoying the products in their homes and businesses. Bob Perera - Owner and founder. He is NFI (National Fireplace Institute) certified. Bob served the city of Durham, NC as a firefighter for 34 years. Now recently retired, he hopes to continue to grow Fire Safe Chimney Sweep and Solar Innovations.
